If there is one thing that I have learned when comes to planning vacation: never book an Airbnb vacation rental during the holiday season. We were so close to being homeless on Christmas when our host canceled our reservation.
Well, it must be serendipitous as we ended up booking a room at La Vida Orchard Bed and Breakfast where we had a really lovely time.
La Vida Orchard Bed and Breakfast is a homely accommodation in an idyllic setting that allows you to reconnect with yourself and discover the inner artist in you.
Unlike other places in Samal Island wherein its selling point is its beach, this quaint B&B has an art gallery where scheduled painting classes are being held. The classes are done by the Guest Relations Manager who happens to be an artist.
It may not be a beachside resort but I like it for its character and charm. Each corner of this peaceful hideaway is ornated by flower bush or a tropical plant. Its rustic furniture, eclectic decors, and tastefully selected artworks create this artistic vibe in its interiors.
We stayed in their spacious Deluxe Room for 2 persons. It doesn’t have a television or WIFI inside the room and that didn’t matter to us. A working air-conditioner and hot water shower were already enough to make us happy.
Complimentary breakfast changes every day. I remember being served Champorado (chocolate rice porridge), pancakes, Suman (sticky rice), fried and ripe banana, eggs (in different styles), fresh tropical fruits like watermelon, papaya, and mango. They also have free flowing brewed corn coffee and unlimited bread that goes with peanut butter and homemade jam.
When comes to spending holidays away from home, being in a place wherein we will feel at home is a big deal. When we were there, we were treated like long lost friends by the owners and even invited for their family Noche Buena.
For people who are looking for a place in Samal where they can seek creative experience or simply feel at home, La Vida Orchard Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to be.
